Days without DSL

For the last 7 days I have been without my DSL. At first I was like cool, no biggie I spend most of my time in front of a computer at work anyway. Well it is a big deal. You can’t work on personal stuff at work (well you don’t suppose to), and I have a bunch of personal stuff that I need to work on. To make a long story short life without a broadband connection is not good. There where times when I had to use the Treo as a modem to check email, which is like being back on dial up Grrrr. Anyway it’s over now and I’m glad to be back in full swing.

There has been a lot of movement in the SEO world in these past 7 days, mostly with Yahoo (Rivals.com deal, Yang & Semel,Yahoo+Myspace), but most of all I thought the Google Solar Panel Project was cool as hell. So instead of rehashing the past I’m going to focus on what’s happening today. I ordered Jamie Sirovich and Christian Darie’s book “Professional Search Engine Optimization with PHP” so far its great. I was worried that this book would be a waste of my time. I feel pretty confident with both PHP and SEO so for me It was about the take a ways if any. If I purchased the book what kind of information/learnings would I be taking away. Well again I have not finished reading the book (only in chapter 3), but I think the way they broke down the mechanics’ of mod_rewites was totally smart. This alone I would consider a incredible take away.
